Job Description
TouchPoint is a dynamic and compassionate healthcare support service provider specializing in patient hospitality across Ascension Health hospitals in the United States. With a focus on fostering healing environments, TouchPoint operates as a division of Compass Healthcare, a leader in the foodservice industry known for its dedication to quality, excellence, and service. Based at Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN, TouchPoint is actively hiring full-time Patient Servers who will play a vital role in delivering exceptional food service and support to patients, families, and visitors within the hospital setting. The work schedule is primarily from 1:00 pm to 7:30 pm, with varying days that include weekends and holidays, emphasizing the importance of continuous patient care and support.
The Patient Server position at TouchPoint involves a blend of hospitality, care, and precision. Individuals in this role are responsible for taking patients' menu selections, assembling trays according to dietary orders, delivering meals, attending to special requests, and performing tray pick-ups. This role demands a friendly and attentive attitude to ensure patient satisfaction and comfort throughout their meal experiences. A significant part of the job encompasses compliance with dietary restrictions, accommodating food allergies, and respecting cultural, ethnic, and religious food preferences, which requires a deep understanding of patient needs and effective communication with nursing staff.
Patient Servers also assist dietitians by monitoring specific patient diets such as NPO (nothing by mouth), liquid diets, or calorie count needs. Furthermore, they are expected to maintain accurate records and adhere to stringent health and sanitation standards in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. The position involves interaction with various hospital staff and demands a commitment to confidentiality and patient rights under HIPAA guidelines. Employees will engage in routine safety and infection control protocols, participate in emergency preparedness drills, and help maintain a clean, sanitary environment to support overall patient well-being.
TouchPoint emphasizes a culture of empowerment, encouragement, and collective success, striving to improve the health of vulnerable populations through exceptional service and care. The company values teamwork and personal growth, offering opportunities for career advancement within a supportive workplace. The pay range for this role is competitive, between $16.32 and $18.57 per hour, reflecting the skill and dedication required for the position.
Applicants should possess prior experience in food service and customer service, as well as the ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds and demonstrate strong communication skills. TouchPoint embraces diversity and inclusion, ensuring fair treatment for all associates and providing a range of benefits to promote health, wellness, and work-life balance. These benefits include retirement plans, health and dental insurance, employee assistance programs, and more, available to those in both full-time and part-time positions.
Working at TouchPoint means being part of a mission-driven organization devoted to delivering moments that matter through service excellence. Associates are encouraged to bring compassion, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality to every interaction, contributing to a healing atmosphere that supports patients and staff alike.
