We are currently hiring immediately for both full-time and part-time Patient Server positions within St Joseph's Hospital. Job Duties
- Exhibit a friendly, caring attitude to patients when taking menu selections, delivering trays, and retrieving trays
- Take patients' menu selections prior to each meal
- Comply with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure food preferences meet diet order limitations
- Offer alternatives to menu options in accordance with food allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic, and religious preferences
- Assemble trays according to patients' menu selections in a timely and accurate manner
- Interact with nursing staff to ensure patients' diet prescriptions and food needs are met
- Retrieve trays from patients' rooms
- Maintain accurate and current patient information on assigned units
- Assist dietitian with monitoring patients who are NPO, on liquid diets, or have calorie counts ordered
- Communicate patient-related problems or concerns to appropriate personnel timely
- Adhere to facility confidentiality and patients' rights policies per HIPAA guidelines
- Contribute to patient satisfaction goals by providing quality service
- Comply with health and sanitation regulations and departmental procedures
- Maintain a clean, sanitary working environment
- Follow HACCP guidelines when assembling and distributing food supplies
- Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports accurately and timely
- Identify and utilize cleaning chemicals per manufacturer instructions and MSDS sheets
- Use equipment safely according to departmental safety procedures
- Follow facility safety, infection control, Hazardous Materials and Waste Program, Emergency Preparedness, and Life Safety policies
- Participate in drills as appropriate
- Perform other duties as assigned
