Job Description
Intermountain Health St. Vincent Regional Hospital, located in Billings, Montana, is a respected healthcare institution serving the communities of Montana and Northern Wyoming with compassionate and quality care for more than 125 years. The hospital provides not only general hospital care but also specialty services, including a unique "hospital within a hospital" just for children, known as St. Vincent Children’s Hospital. This facility is part of the Intermountain Health system, which is committed to delivering excellence in patient care and fostering wellness across mind, body, and spirit. As a progressive and community-oriented healthcare provider, St. Vincent Regional Hospital is preparing for further growth and innovation with plans for a new hospital location opening in 2030, signaling a strong future for caregivers and patients alike.
The Patient Meals Manager role is a critical leadership position within the hospital’s Culinary Services department. Primary responsibility for this role is to oversee all aspects of patient meal services, stepping in whenever the Patient Meal Manager-RD position is unoccupied. This role demands a dynamic leader who can ensure that patients receive safe, high-quality meals that meet their nutritional needs, all while creating an exceptional experience for those receiving care. The incumbent will manage daily operations, implement best practice standards system-wide, coordinate with clinical nutrition teams, and collaborate closely with nursing staff to ensure therapeutic diets are accurately followed according to provider orders.
This position is full-time, requiring a schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend support. Located in Billings, Montana, it offers an hourly salary range of $25.79 to $39.81, dependent upon experience, and includes eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package designed to support well-being in multiple aspects of life. Candidates with prior healthcare experience are highly preferred given the role’s focus within a hospital environment.
This leadership role will also manage caregiver productivity, oversee human resources functions such as hiring and training, and ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards to deliver cost-effective service. Strong skills in food service, people management, food safety, and nutrition are essential, along with the ability to lead teams and drive quality improvement initiatives. Successful Patient Meals Managers demonstrate expert interpersonal communication skills and financial competence to meet and exceed customer expectations while managing operational budgets efficiently.
Joining the St. Vincent Regional Hospital team means becoming part of a community committed to innovation, quality care, and supportive work culture. The organization places emphasis on fostering a sustainable culture of wellness among its caregivers and offers growth opportunities to those passionate about making a difference through food and caregiving. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving healthcare environment and advance your career in hospital food service management within a forward-thinking system.
