Job Description

Under the direction of the supervisor, the Patient Meal Preparer prepares meals for patients, visitors, and hospital employees, ensuring that dietary needs and presentation standards are met. This role involves cleaning and sanitizing food preparation areas and equipment according to regulatory rules and hospital policies to maintain a hygienic environment. The individual also stocks necessary food service items and assists in inventory management to ensure adequate supplies are maintained. Importantly, this position coordinates with nursing staff and the on-call dietician to address any questions or changes related to patient diet orders, ensuring that patients receive meals aligned with their dietary needs and rehabilitation goals. Additionally, the Patient Meal Preparer is responsible for training and coordinating the work of other food service employees, helping to promote operational efficiency. This role supports maintaining cleanliness in food service areas and helps manage hospital resources efficiently. The duties of this job include not only meal preparation but also managing weekly food inventory, monitoring food quality and presentation, and performing other food preparer responsibilities as needed. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Assists supervisor with engaging employees in maintaining cleanliness of food service areas and equipment
