As part of its vibrant team, Brown University Health is currently seeking a Front Desk Receptionist to join the Rhode Island Hospital team located at 593 Eddy Street, Providence, Rhode Island. This full-time position involves working a day shift with 12-hour shifts every other weekend, including holidays as needed. The role is vital to the hospital's operations as it serves as the first point of contact for patients, guests, and visitors, ensuring they feel welcomed and assisted throughout their visit.

The Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for greeting visitors, providing accurate directions within the hospital complex, and responding professionally to telephone inquiries, ensuring high standards of customer service are met. The position demands an individual who can maintain confidentiality with patient information at all times, perform routine clerical duties, and efficiently operate computer systems to access patient records. Additionally, the role involves maintaining departmental records and statistics related to patient and visitor status and issuing courtesy coupons to clergy members as appropriate.

This position requires an individual who not only possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills but also demonstrates computer competency and familiarity with some medical terminology to navigate healthcare-related information accurately. The environment necessitates frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
