Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and transport
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Capable of handling emergency situations and reporting safety hazards
  • Ability to perform assigned duties responsibly and reliably

Job Qualifications

  • Competence in critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills

Job Duties

  • Assist patients professionally and warmly at the hospital curbside in all weather
  • Maintain a neat and clean appearance appropriate for a professional healthcare environment
  • Use all patient assist equipment safely to move and transfer patients who cannot assist themselves
  • Maintain a safe working environment by reporting hazards and unusual occurrences promptly
  • Greet all arriving patients and guests courteously and helpfully
  • Provide patients and guests with information on hospital services, transportation, directions, and parking
  • Communicate effectively and resolve any customer concerns with follow-up
  • Organize and lead work efforts to ensure high patient and customer satisfaction
  • Inform Dispatcher and emergency departments of urgent patient needs
  • Assist the Information Desk with directing patients and visitors
  • Perform daily work assignments efficiently and accurately
  • Report equipment malfunctions promptly and coordinate repairs
  • Attend required training and demonstrate competency with patient transport equipment
  • Operate patient care equipment including O2 tanks, wheelchairs, stretchers, lift chairs, telemetry monitors, slide-boards, and Air-Pal devices safely and effectively
  • Perform professional, clinical, and technical competencies as assigned
