The Patient Dining Representative will also prepare, deliver, and recover meal trays efficiently, adhering to strict protocols and department policies to maintain service quality and safety standards. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months experience in high-volume food service
  • Institutional food service experience in healthcare environment preferred
  • Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families
  • Familiarity with therapeutic diets and modified diet protocols
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Compliance with dress code and department policies
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, and perform physical tasks as described
  • Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and education.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience
  • Six months experience in high-volume food service
  • Institutional food service experience with therapeutic diets preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and clinical staff
  • Proficient in using software applications related to meal delivery and documentation
  • Knowledge of diet modifications and patient nutrition needs
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare policies.

Job Duties

  • Meets with patients on nursing units to present and discuss printed menus
  • Explains QR code technology for online menu viewing
  • Describes meal order and delivery process to patients and family members
  • Highlights daily Chef's Special and Always Available options
  • Clarifies descriptions of common modified diets and documents dietary preferences and allergies
  • Refers nutrition concerns to Clinical Dietitian and non-nutrition issues to nursing staff
  • Prepares, delivers, and recovers patient meal trays using MyDelivery software
  • Maintains professional appearance according to ROC dress code and approved uniforms
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and staff adhering to iRESPECT and Retail Care standards
  • Answers inquiries and resolves problems related to patient dining
  • Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA and compliance policies
  • Keeps department records, reports, and files accurate and up-to-date
  • Ensures a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff
  • Provides coverage during staff absences and demonstrates flexibility for scheduling
  • Completes required ongoing training and education.
