The Patient Concierge role at South Bay Radiation Oncology Center is a vital position within Practice Operations Management, responsible for overseeing the administrative and front-facing operational aspects of patient care. As the first point of contact, the Patient Concierge plays a key role in creating a welcoming and organized environment for patients and their families. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- one year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- ability to work flexible hours
- strong customer service and communication skills
- proficiency with basic computer applications
- ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality
- familiarity with medical terminology preferred
- bilingual in Spanish preferred
Job Qualifications
- Ability to work a flexible schedule as necessary
- experience working in a busy, fast-paced medical office setting, highly preferred
- high school diploma or equivalent experience, preferred
- knowledge of medical terminology, preferred
- one year of medical office experience, preferred
- experience accessing and updating an EMR system, preferred
- bilingual in Spanish
Job Duties
- Greet patients and families
- answer center telephones, distribute faxes, and prepare customer files
- schedule patient appointments
- receive and correctly record receipts of patient payments
- enter, verify and update patient demographic and insurance information
- process requests for records from outside sources
- scan data into document imaging software
- maintain regular attendance and punctuality
- contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- ensure that all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved
- perform any other functions as required by management
