The role of Patient Concierge at St. Luke's is integral to delivering an exceptional patient experience and promoting a patient-centric culture across the organization. The Patient Concierge acts as a passionate advocate for patients, ensuring that every interaction is handled with politeness, promptness, and compassion. This role requires a multifaceted skill set as it combines administrative duties with frontline patient support services. The Patient Concierge facilitates many aspects of the patient's journey, from check-in and registration to appointment scheduling and point-of-service payment collection. They also provide education on tools such as MyChart and assist with various patient inquiries including forms and medical record requests. This role supports smooth practice operations by managing tasks related to practice opening and closing, maintaining cleanliness, handling incoming mail and deliveries, and managing cash reconciliation. Additionally, the Patient Concierge plays a vital role in communication flow by partnering with Access Center Patient Engagement Partners and Clinical Triage Specialists to address scheduling and clinical inquiry needs promptly.
The position demands a solution-oriented and creative approach to anticipate patient needs effectively, requiring collaboration with other departments and team members. Physically, the role involves sitting, standing, walking for extended periods, and tasks such as lifting supplies and pushing wheelchairs, necessitating a good level of physical fitness and manual dexterity. With a focus on compliance, time management, and continuous growth, the Patient Concierge must communicate clearly and empathetically, maintaining a quality-driven and service-oriented mindset that embodies St. Luke's mission to uphold excellence in patient care.

Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum one year practice-based experience or similar healthcare setting preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Ability to engage patients politely, promptly, and compassionately
- Ability to perform clerical service delivery functions
- Ability to facilitate practice opening and closing procedures
- Ability to manage cash and reconcile accounts accurately
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- Physical ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and push carts or wheelchairs as required
- Good hearing and vision
Job Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Preferred graduate of administrative training programs
- Minimum one year practice-based experience or similar healthcare setting preferred

Job Duties
- Engages patients in a polite, prompt, and compassionate manner during all practice-based patient interactions
- Performs clerical service delivery functions with patients, including check-in, patient consent, check-out, pre-registration and real-time eligibility verification, registration, MyChart education, appointment/testing scheduling at check-out, point of service payment collection, and addressing patient inquiries
- Delivers waiting room concierge service and provide hands-on support to patients utilizing the kiosk check-in process
- Facilitates practice opening and closing procedures, maintenance of practice cleanliness, processing of incoming mail and deliveries, cash management and reconciliation, and prompt scanning and indexing incoming faxes
- Supports other practice-based team members by promptly addressing in-basket clerical pool messages
- Partners with Access Center Patient Engagement Partners to address time-sensitive scheduling requests
- Promptly facilitates connection from Access Center Clinical Triage Specialists to practice-based care team members for time sensitive clinical inquiries
- Maintains solution-oriented/creative mindset to effectively anticipate and tend to patient needs by partnering with other organizational team members/departments
