The role of Patient Care Specialist at Fast Pace Health is essential to the smooth operation of the clinic and to maintaining high standards of patient satisfaction. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Current CPR license
- Minimum 1 year of customer experience preferably urgent care
- Must be able to type 70-100 words per minute
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
- Ability to complete mandatory compliance training
- Ability to cross train in back-office clinical tasks

- Willingness to participate in community outreach programs
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization of clinic environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Current CPR license
- At least 1 year of customer service experience preferably in urgent care
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and insurance practices
- Experience with PC use including typing and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook Word and Excel
- Intermediate Excel skills including basic formulas and VLOOKUP
- Ability to follow compliance standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Demonstrates a high level of customer service to greet register and discharge all patients
- Ability to cross train and assist with back-office duties as needed within scope of practice
- Accurately collect and input patient demographics and financial information at registration
- Verifies and updates all patient insurance information
- Maintains strong knowledge of medical insurance plans including co-pays deductibles and coverage limits
- Keeps up to date with changes to government and commercial insurance plans
- Maintains knowledge of the Fast Pace Self-Pay program
- Collects insurance co-pays deductibles or self-pay amounts at registration
- Answers phone calls politely with a patient-centered approach
- Facilitates patient flow by notifying providers of patient arrivals and communicating delays
- Retrieves faxes or mails medical records for continuity of care
- Completes mandatory compliance training
- Maintains positive relations with clients and employees
- Performs physical use of senses cognitive and environmental functions
- Responsible for folding towels cleaning tables assisting patients with exercise equipment
- Welcomes new employees and facilitates clinic tours and introductions
- Supports new employee training through job shadowing and coaching
- Adheres to company standards of operation and core values
- Promotes confidentiality and respectful culture
- Demonstrates proficiency with basic PC skills including MS Outlook and Word
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of reception and office areas
- Performs other duties as assigned by management
