Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • current CPR license
  • at least one year of customer service experience preferably in urgent care or medical office
  • three years' experience in billing and coding and intermediate computer skills for advanced levels
  • typing speed of 70-100 words per minute and knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel with basic formulas and v lookup
  • ability to cross-train on clinical back-office duties
  • compliance with mandatory training and company policies
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold respectful workplace culture
  • willingness to participate in community outreach programs
  • capable of performing physical and cognitive functions related to the position
  • availability to complete new employee training and certification within seven days of hire.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • one year of medical office experience with basic medical terminology and insurance knowledge preferred
  • proficiency in basic PC skills including typing, mouse usage, and software such as MS Outlook and Word
  • intermediate computer skills for higher levels including typing 70-100 words per minute and knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel formulas and v lookup
  • current CPR license required
  • experience in billing and coding preferred for advanced levels
  • ability to work collaboratively within a team and uphold company core values.

Job Duties

  • Demonstrates a high level of customer service to greet, register, and discharge all patients
  • ability to cross train and assist with back-office duties as needed within scope of practice
  • accurately collect and input patient demographics and financial information at the time of registration for all patients
  • verifies and updates all patient insurance information at the time of registration
  • maintains strong knowledge of medical insurance plans including co-pays, deductibles, and coverage limits
  • stays up to date with all changes to government and commercial insurance plans
  • maintains a high-level understanding and knowledge of the Fast Pace Self-Pay program
  • collects all insurance, co-pays or deductibles, or self-pay amounts at the time of registration
  • answers the phone with a polite, patient-centered manner demonstrating commitment to positive patient experiences
  • maintains Fast Pace customer service levels and facilitates patient flow by notifying the provider of patient arrival and communicating appropriately
  • retrieves, faxes, or mails medical records to primary care providers as needed
  • willing to cross-train on back-office clinical skills to perform in a cross-functional role
  • completes mandatory compliance training and follows processes and procedures to maintain standards
  • maintains friendly, cordial relations with clients and employees to create a positive work atmosphere
  • performs physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as specified
  • responsible for folding towels, cleaning tables, and assisting patients with exercise equipment
  • welcomes new employees with clinic tours and training
  • supports new employee learning and training through job shadowing and coaching
  • complies with company standards of operation and core values
  • promotes and maintains confidentiality of employees, patients, and business.
