Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of customer service experience
- One year of medical office experience
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to handle cash and count money
- Strong communication skills both in person and via phone
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Pass a drug test
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of customer service experience with strong communication skills
- One year of experience in a medical office environment
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with electronic health records
- Leadership experience
- Related healthcare experience including scheduling
- Experience handling and triaging telephone calls and multi-system phone lines
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to handle cash and perform mathematical computations
Job Duties
- Greets patients as they arrive and manages wait time
- Complete check-in and check-out tasks including insurance verification and pre-authorization of procedures
- Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issue receipts
- Manage cashier box and daily deposits according to company policies
- Lead other members of the team
- Process walk-in patients and visitors
- Answer phones and schedule appointments
- Answer telephone calls, re-direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns, and take messages
- Manage medical records including filing, scanning, and maintaining logs
- Ensure all correspondence is scanned and filed and process requests for medical records release
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills in own function and act as a technical resource to others
- Identify solutions to non-standard requests and solve moderately complex problems independently or with the team
- Plan, prioritize, organize and complete work to meet objectives
- Coordinate work of other team members as needed
- Perform all other related duties as assigned
