Job Description

Adventist Health Castle, located in Kailua, has been a cornerstone of healthcare in the O'ahu community since 1963. As a leading healthcare provider, this organization includes a 160-bed hospital along with eight medical offices, numerous home care services, urgent care facilities, and a comprehensive array of healthcare services spread across the island. Adventist Health Castle earned national recognition in 2017 when it was awarded the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award — the highest presidential honor for performance excellence. This award underscores the institution’s commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and continuously improving quality standards. Situated on the beautiful island of O'ahu, Adventist Health Castle operates within a community characterized by an ideal climate, a rich mix of cultures, and stunning natural scenery, all of which contribute to a uniquely attractive work environment. The organization not only commits to healthcare excellence but also values the well-being and lifestyle balance of its staff, fostering a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for both employees and patients.

The role of Medical Receptionist at Adventist Health Castle is essential in supporting the smooth operation of outpatient services. This position is responsible for acting as a coordinator for scheduled outpatient programs, ensuring all patient registration information is accurately completed and verified. A critical part of this role includes managing the financial components by collecting the patient’s financial responsibilities at the time of service. The Medical Receptionist also provides essential clerical support to various departments, maintains the accuracy of patient records, and enters updates and status changes into computerized systems to ensure seamless communication and processing of patient information. This position involves routine assignments guided by established protocols, but also requires the ability to follow daily instructions and adapt to specific circumstances. It is a position that demands attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal communication, as it often involves direct interaction with patients and healthcare providers. Through this role, the Medical Receptionist plays a pivotal part in enhancing patient experience and operational efficiency in an esteemed healthcare environment known for its compassionate approach and commitment to quality. Employment at Adventist Health Castle offers the unique opportunity to join a faith-based, nonprofit, integrated health system that serves a large community with diverse healthcare needs on the West Coast and Hawaii, embodying values rooted in compassion and service. The team-driven culture and mission-centered work environment make this a highly rewarding career choice for those passionate about health administration and patient care.
