Job Description
Adventist Health Castle, located in Kailua, Hawaii, has been a leading healthcare provider in the region since 1963. The establishment is part of the larger Adventist Health system, a faith-based, nonprofit, integrated healthcare network serving more than 100 communities across the West Coast and Hawaii. With over 440 sites of care, including 27 acute care facilities, Adventist Health operates a comprehensive range of healthcare services through hospitals, clinics, home care, and hospice agencies. The system is grounded in Adventist heritage and values, focusing on compassionate care and driven by a mission to live God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness, and hope. Adventist Health Castle itself is a 160-bed hospital, supported by eight medical offices, home care services, urgent care centers, and other healthcare services throughout Oahu. The hospital was honored in 2017 with the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation's highest presidential recognition for performance excellence.
Oahu offers an ideal climate, a diverse cultural environment, and stunning natural landscapes, making it a desirable location for both residents and healthcare professionals. Adventist Health Castle complements this setting by offering a laid-back lifestyle within a close-knit and supportive community.
The role of Medical Receptionist at Adventist Health Castle is vital to the smooth operation of outpatient services and overall patient experience. This position involves facilitating scheduled outpatient services and programs, ensuring that all patient registration information is accurately completed and verified, and collecting the patient’s financial responsibility at the time of service. The Medical Receptionist provides essential clerical support, including answering phone calls, maintaining patient files, and entering status changes into the computer system.
The Medical Receptionist works within established guidelines and procedures, performing routine assignments with daily instructions from supervisors. Key responsibilities include facilitating patient admission and discharge processes, collecting both patient information and financial data, scheduling and coordinating patient appointments, confirming appointments, and providing relevant instructions to patients. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to excellent patient service.
Adventist Health values the safety and well-being of both associates and patients; therefore, all associates are required to receive necessary vaccinations as a condition of employment, with accommodations for medical or religious exemptions when applicable. The organization participates in the federal E-Verify program to confirm eligibility to work in the United States.
This position is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare administration and patient services, offering a chance to be part of a nationally recognized healthcare provider with a strong community presence and a focus on high-quality care.
