Job Description

Doctors Hospital of Manteca is a well-established healthcare institution that is part of the Central Valley Doctors Health System. Serving the community with dedication, it is one of the largest employers in the region with over 500 employees and a medical staff of more than 150 physicians. The hospital combines the accessibility and convenience of a small hospital with the availability of advanced clinical services, ensuring comprehensive care for its patients. It features private patient rooms, enhanced imaging services, a fully equipped emergency department, pharmacy, and ICU/CCU services aimed at delivering care and comfort to every patient. The hospital is also fully accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, reflecting its commitment to maintaining high standards in healthcare services.

The available position is for a Part-Time Night Shift Admissions Clerk. This role is crucial to the hospital's operations as the first point of contact for patients being admitted through inpatient, outpatient, and Emergency Department services. The Admissions Clerk is responsible for conducting patient interviews, completing necessary admission forms, assigning inpatient rooms, and managing patient discharges. Additionally, this role involves handling financial transactions, including collecting patient copays, coinsurance deductibles, and managing cash pay accounts. The Admissions Clerk is expected to make payment arrangements when necessary and act with professionalism in answering patient inquiries and resolving any issues or concerns they may have. The position may also require acting as a hospital receptionist and PBX operator, contributing further to the smooth functioning of daily hospital operations.

This role requires exceptional customer service skills, the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and a team-oriented attitude. Proficiency in spoken and written English is mandatory. The hospital offers a supportive work environment with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, retirement savings plans with employer match, generous paid time off, career development programs, health savings and flexible spending accounts, employee assistance and discount programs, and various voluntary benefits such as pet insurance and legal coverage. Note that benefit eligibility may vary by location and employment status. Working at Doctors Hospital of Manteca offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a caring healthcare community with resources and support designed to foster professional growth and personal well-being.
