Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Ability to operate basic office equipment and computers
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to transport patients and assist with mobility devices such as wheelchairs or oxygen tanks
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in patient registration or healthcare clerical duties preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff
- Basic knowledge of insurance verification processes
- Proficient computer skills including data entry
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Skilled in managing patient concerns and questions with empathy and professionalism
Job Duties
- Meet with patient and/or patient’s caregiver to exchange necessary information and documentation
- Provide explanation of visit, instructions, and address concerns and questions
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain pre-certification/authorization as necessary
- Escort and transport patients and visitors within facility, which may include a wheelchair or oxygen tank
- Determine and accept required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refer to financial counselors for follow up
- Ensure that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy
- Utilize critical thinking skills and exercise decisive judgement while working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
