The role of Patient Access Coordinator at Baptist Health is vital to the smooth operation of healthcare service delivery. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Less than 1 year of experience preferred
  • Ability to complete Patient Access training course
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced settings
  • Compassionate and team-oriented attitude

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Completion and passing of the Patient Access training course
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced work environment
  • Basic mathematical calculation skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology preferred
  • Experience with computer applications, Microsoft Office, and EMR systems
  • Knowledge of regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinate patient flow and timely processing
  • Maintain knowledge of insurance requirements and financial assistance options
  • Answer patient questions or concerns professionally and compassionately
  • Support the deployment of department and hospital practices
  • Ensure adherence to revenue cycle operations and pricing policies
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, employees, physicians and community members
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, and Medicare guidelines
