The role demands excellent communication skills to interface with management and service personnel to address guest needs and operational demands. Furthermore, you will assist in controlling food and labor costs and participate in purchasing decisions and inventory management. Professionalism and dedication are paramount, as the role contributes to setting goals that focus on profitability, product quality, and team development.

MGM Resorts values training and mentorship, and as Pastry Sous Chef, you will have opportunities to conduct training sessions for bakers and helpers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. This position requires working varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, accommodating the 24/7 nature of a large resort and entertainment venue. The employment type is full-time, and while specific salary details are not disclosed here, MGM Resorts is known to offer competitive compensation packages aligned with industry standards.

Overall, this role is perfect for individuals who take pride in their craft, aspire to work in a high-impact role within the culinary arts, and seek to be part of a renowned global hospitality brand. If you are passionate about pastries and enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your creativity is valued, then the Pastry Sous Chef position at Mandalay Bay could be your ideal next career step.
