We are currently hiring a dedicated Pastry Sous Chef to join our Bon Appetit program located at Google in Mountain View, CA. This full-time, Monday through Friday position offers a competitive salary range between $76,240 and $80,000 annually. The Pastry Sous Chef role is central to maintaining the high standards of culinary excellence and operational efficiency within our dynamic pastry department. This role directly reports to the Pastry Chef and requires leadership and technical skills to manage a passionate, skilled pastry team.
As a Pastry Sous Chef, you will be responsible for mentoring and training team members while overseeing the preparation and presentation of a broad variety of desserts and artisan pastries. Your expertise in baking techniques, precise recipe execution, and artistic decoration will ensure that each product meets Bon Appetit’s celebrated standards. Additionally, you will manage critical operational aspects including inventory control, financial management, and strict adherence to health and safety protocols. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 2 years supervisory experience in pastry or culinary environment
- ability to work Monday through Friday schedule
- strong technical pastry skills
- knowledge of food safety and allergen protocols

- proficiency with inventory management
- commitment to sustainable sourcing practices
- ServSafe Manager certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- Degree in culinary arts with pastry specialization preferred
- minimum 2 years kitchen supervisory experience in high-volume, premium food service
- strong leadership skills with a value-driven approach
- passion for pastry arts and baking science
- excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- proficient with Google Suite applications
- knowledge of health & safety standards and sustainable food practices
- ServSafe Manager certification preferred
- experience managing in a union environment a plus
