Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1-3 years experience in similar foodservice setting
  • At least 1 year experience as Pastry Sous Chef or supervisor preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • ServSafe certification
  • Food Safety Handler certification
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to multitask and work in high stress environments
  • Physical capability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a restaurant or foodservice retail establishment
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or Supervisor preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent certification in Culinary Arts with focus on Pastry Arts and Baking preferred
  • Previous related experience in food and beverage operations preferred
  • ServSafe certification required
  • Food Safety Handler certification required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, speak and interpret documents in clear English
  • Basic computer skills including Word, Email, Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting software and reservation management systems preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise daily production and distribution of pastries, desserts, and breads
  • Assist in overseeing pastry kitchen operations including cleanliness and labor cost management
  • Create new menu items using various cooking techniques and ingredients
  • Train, recruit, and manage pastry and baking staff to ensure quality standards
  • Maintain recipe books and create cost cards for new items
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, and verify quality of ingredient deliveries
  • Collaborate with front-of-house and retail teams to ensure product quality and effective communication
