The Executive Chef position at Occasions Caterers offers a unique opportunity to become part of this exceptional team that prides itself on delivering Food First philosophy inspired by quality ingredients and outstanding service. This role commands a salary range of $60,000 to $65,000 and involves leadership and oversight within a high-volume kitchen environment where creative culinary skills meet operational management. The Executive Chef will be responsible for leadership in kitchen operations, including overseeing the production of diverse culinary offerings ranging from pastries and chocolates to plated and buffet-style desserts. This role requires hands-on involvement in menu development, recipe testing, and fostering an energetic, motivated team to meet quality and volume demands.
The Executive Chef will also be expected to manage ordering and inventory processes efficiently, focusing on food and labor cost control to contribute effectively to the company's revenue goals. A key element of this role is ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding sanitation protocols within the kitchen. This position demands strong organizational capabilities, emotional resilience under pressure, and excellent communication skills to lead and inspire a diverse culinary staff. Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years pastry experience in large scale format baking, commissary, catering or hotel preferred
- 1-2 years management experience preferred
- Good communication skills

Job Duties
- Oversee a pastry team producing a wide range of desserts including mousses, cookies, cakes, ice creams, viennoiserie, and chocolate work
- Assist in menu development and recipe testing

- Ensure kitchen cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards
- Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Assume responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Pastry Chef
- Maintain flexibility in scheduling and daily production support
