Sodexo currently has an exciting opportunity for a Pastry Sous Chef to support a high-end corporate client experiencing rapid growth. This role is pivotal in developing and executing an assortment of exquisite desserts and pastries, blending traditional and contemporary techniques. The Pastry Sous Chef will be instrumental in recipe development, ensuring the menu remains fresh, innovative, and engaging to customers. Presentation is a key focus, as the Pastry Sous Chef will craft visually stunning pastry creations that meet high-quality standards expected by discerning clientele.
In addition to the culinary creation responsibilities, this role offers dynamic opportunities to engage directly with guests through leading hands-on pastry classes, where participants learn to prepare specific pastry items in an interactive setting. The Pastry Sous Chef will also host seasonal pop-up events to showcase specialty items tailored to reflect seasonal themes or regional flavors, further enhancing customer experience and brand engagement. Furthermore, this position will design and oversee pastry production for catering events that highlight particular regions or seasons, adding a bespoke touch to corporate functions and celebrations.
Compensation for the Pastry Sous Chef at Sodexo is equitable and competitive, reflecting the candidate’s education and professional experience. Job Requirements
- Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of management experience
- Minimum 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc
Job Qualifications
- Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Pastry Chef in high volume dining and high end catering
- Strong leadership skills with successful supervisory experience
- Proven culinary knowledge including purchasing, inventory management, production scheduling, and cost controls
- Passion for food innovation and creativity

Job Duties
- Create a wide range of desserts, pastries, and baked goods, following both traditional and modern recipes
- Innovate and develop new recipes to enhance the menu and engage customers
- Decorate pastries and desserts to ensure they are visually appealing and meet quality standards
- Lead hands-on pastry classes demonstrating how to make specific pastry items
- Host onsite seasonal pop-ups showcasing specialty pastries and interact with guests
- Design and produce pastries for catering events that highlight specific regions or seasons
- Manage purchasing, inventory, production schedules, and cost controls to ensure efficient kitchen operations
