Job Description

Crenn Dining Group is a pioneering culinary collective recognized for their commitment to humanity, sustainability, artistry, and equity. At the heart of this group is Crenn, an establishment that creates innovative dining experiences designed to challenge culinary conventions while prioritizing the health of our planet. Their approach is holistic and deeply values inclusion at every operational stage—from sourcing ingredients from mindful purveyors to fostering an inclusive team environment. As an Equal Opportunity Employer, Crenn Dining Group ensures a workplace that embraces diversity without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any legally protected characteristic.

Working at Crenn means being part of a team dedicated to pushing the boundaries of culinary arts with an eco-conscious outlook. The company’s mission is reflected in every dish and dessert created, emphasizing a connection to sustainable practices and artistic integrity. Based in the vibrant culinary scene, Crenn offers employees a stimulating environment where passion for food meets conscientious innovation. Employees align with the company’s values of artistry and equity by collaborating, continuously learning, and improving services with focus on reducing waste and supporting the health of our environment.

The role within the pastry team at Crenn demands a blend of technical expertise and a creative mindset. The position involves preparation and organization of mise en place, supporting the pastry sous chef and the broader pastry team with a variety of tasks—from basic production to ingredient readiness. Maintaining a meticulous and hygienic workspace is crucial, as is upholding proper sanitation practices and preparing the kitchen for health inspections. Employees are entrusted with caring for equipment and tools, supporting inventory management, and also encouraged to contribute ideas for enhancing sustainability within the kitchen.

Beyond mere preparation, this role embodies the spirit of Crenn’s mission. Employees are expected to reflect the company's standards in professional appearance, communication skills, and ethical behavior. Collaboration is heavily emphasized, with teamwork seen as a cornerstone of success. The role also requires openness to feedback and new ideas, all while striving for personal fulfillment through meaningful work rather than public accolade. This position offers a rich opportunity for culinary professionals who wish to grow in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment that deeply values both artistry and planet-first initiatives.
