The role of Pastry Lead Baker at Erewhon Market is a dynamic and rewarding position that places you at the heart of the bakery’s operations. This role requires a passion for artisanal baking, leadership skills, and the ability to manage a talented team of bakers. As a Pastry Lead Baker, you will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 10 bakers who create and produce high-quality pastries and bread from scratch according to Erewhon’s carefully crafted recipes and standards. You will oversee daily production needs, assist in scheduling, delegate tasks, and ensure that every product meets the highest food safety and quality control benchmarks. In addition to maintaining consistent production, you will also have the opportunity to participate in recipe development and training, helping to introduce new products to the bakery.
The position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $70,304 to $85,000, dependent on experience, along with a robust benefits package. - At least 1 year of experience working in a fast paced baking environment
- Ability to work the PM shift
- Knowledge of utilizing deck ovens rack ovens and proofers
- Availability to work late afternoons and evenings

Job Duties
- Work in a team to bake pastries from scratch following carefully crafted recipes to maintain Erewhon product standards
- Lead a team of about 10 bakers to meet daily production needs
- Assist in scheduling team to meet business needs
- Ensure the department meets production needs by delegating tasks to the team
- Measure and combine ingredients and use mixers blenders heat sources and other equipment to make pastries and bread
- Assist the team in creating new recipes and train the team on how to produce the new products
- Test ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality control
- Assist with pastry and bakery production maintaining cleanliness and appropriate supplies stocked
- Creatively decorate pastries and bakery products
- Ensure the highest quality of product is produced at all times and in a timely manner
- Other duties as assigned
