The group proudly manages a family of prestigious brands including The Langham Hotels and Resorts, Cordis Hotels and Resorts, Eaton Workshop, and Ying’nFlo. With a strong presence spanning over 40 hotels and residences either in operation or development across key regions including Asia, Europe, North America, Australasia, and the Middle East, LHG is recognized for its commitment to exceptional guest experiences, luxury, and innovation in the hospitality industry.
One of its notable properties is The Langham Huntington in Pasadena, Los Angeles, California. This iconic hotel is set in an upscale residential neighborhood bursting with rich history and cultural significance. Guests are surrounded by historic gems such as Albert Einstein's former residence and famous film locations like the homes featured in Mad Men and Father of the Bride. The hotel is ideally located near Pasadena's vibrant shopping and entertainment district that offers theaters, boutiques, renowned restaurants, and world-class museums. Additionally, attractions such as the Rose Bowl stadium, The Huntington Library, Descanso Gardens, and Kidspace Children’s Museum are just a short drive away. The Langham Huntington also provides a concierge team that offers personalized recommendations to explore the best shopping, dining, and entertainment options in Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area.
The Langham Hospitality Group is currently seeking to hire a Cook 2 for its Pastry Kitchen at The Langham Huntington, Pasadena. This role offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about creating exquisite pastry items in a high-end hospitality environment. The Cook 2 position is responsible for preparing a variety of sweet items, including pastries, cakes, fruit compotes, breads, chocolates, and more, ensuring consistent adherence to quality, production, portion, and presentation standards tailored to guest orders across various outlets and banquet events.
Reporting directly to the Pastry Chef, the Cook 2 will be a key player in supporting the pastry kitchen’s operations by preparing and plating pastries and desserts, maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in their assigned workstation, and upholding the culinary excellence expected at a 4-5 star establishment. The role demands a high level of skill, attention to detail, creativity, and the ability to work cohesively within a dynamic team environment while following strict kitchen policies and procedures.
Physical demands of the role include standing and walking for an entire 8-hour shift and lifting up to 80 pounds. Candidates must be comfortable working in a controlled but variable environment involving temperature fluctuations. The position requires proficiency in recipe comprehension, recipe scaling, operation and maintenance of culinary equipment, and the ability to produce artistic and creative food presentations under pressure and with minimal supervision.
Ideal candidates will have prior experience working in a 4-5 star hospitality environment and hold relevant certifications such as Food Handler’s Certificate, with CPR and/or First Aid training preferred. The role offers competitive hourly compensation ranging from $27.00 to $29.51, reflecting the high standards and expertise required within the Langham Hospitality Group.
This position exemplifies the group’s core values of dedication to quality, operational excellence, and superior guest service, making it an exciting career opportunity for those motivated to thrive in luxury hospitality and create memorable culinary experiences.
