The mid-level Pastry Cook at Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort plays a vital role in the culinary team by supporting the resort's overall dessert and baking operations. This role focuses on preparing high-quality pastries, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, and creams, ensuring consistency and excellence in every dish. The Pastry Cook will be responsible for planning, prepping, setting up, and executing pastry production in line with the resort’s high standards and specifications. This position requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during banquet and outlet events where precise timing and execution of menu items are crucial.
Shifts primarily start at 7:00 am but can vary based on business needs, and the starting salary is $22.50 per hour. The Pastry Cook is expected to maintain a professional demeanor, work in an organized and sanitary manner, and uphold the resort's quality standards consistently. Availability to work flexible hours, including lunch shifts, weekends, and holidays, is essential for this role. Job Requirements
- Culinary degree or related hotel experience preferred
- At least 2 years of baking or pastry experience in a high volume establishment
- Maricopa County Food Handlers License
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Availability to work weekends holidays mornings and evenings
- Refined verbal communication skills

Job Duties
- Plan prep set up and prepare consistent quality pastry products
- Support banquet and outlet pastry production including menu setup for events
- Garnish and finish desserts by set time
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation
