This particular opportunity is a full-time, non-management position within the food and beverage and culinary department. As a food preparation team member, your responsibilities include preparing and cooking food according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. You will be tasked with preparing ingredients through portioning, chopping, and proper food storage to guarantee freshness and compliance with food safety policies. A key aspect of this role is the use of various baking and measuring tools, equipment, and appliances to create baked goods that meet the Ritz-Carlton’s high standards.

In addition to food preparation, maintaining impeccable cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen is a critical responsibility. This includes washing and disinfecting kitchen areas, setting up and breaking down workstations, and adhering to rigorous cleaning protocols. Safety is paramount, so you will be expected to monitor temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, report any discrepancies to management, and follow all food safety handling and personal hygiene procedures.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Less than 1-year related work experience
  • No supervisory experience
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects of up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work on sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces
  • Ability to reach overhead and below knees including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
