This role is centered around food preparation and culinary excellence, requiring the preparation and cooking of food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and established checklists. You will be responsible for prepping ingredients, portioning, chopping, and storing food, and using kitchen tools and appliances safely and effectively to produce baked meals. Ensuring the adherence to food safety protocols, hygiene practices, and appropriate temperature controls is a critical part of the job.
The position demands maintaining cleanliness and sanitizing kitchen areas, managing workstations, and upholding hygiene standards. Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation, and preparation checklists
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing
- Use kitchen tools, equipment, and appliances safely and appropriately for measuring and baking
- Follow and ensure compliance with food safety policies and hygiene procedures
- Check and ensure correct temperatures for cooking appliances and food, report any issues to management
- Wash and sanitize kitchen areas, set up and organize workstations, adhere to cleaning and hygiene procedures
- Monitor the quality of food and portion sizes throughout the work shift
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management
- Conduct and complete safety training and certifications
- Maintain clean and professional appearance and uniform
- Speak clearly and professionally with others and answer phones using appropriate protocols
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and support team objectives
- Follow quality expectations and standards
- Move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
- Navigate inclined, uneven, or slippery surfaces
- Reach overhead and below the knees including bending, twisting, turning, and crouching
- Stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods
- Perform additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervisors
