Job Description

The Ritz-Carlton is an internationally recognized luxury hotel brand and part of Marriott International, renowned for its exceptional standards of hospitality and service excellence. With over 100 award-winning properties worldwide, The Ritz-Carlton is synonymous with delivering memorable and world-class guest experiences. The company attracts top professionals in hospitality who are empowered to be creative, thoughtful, and compassionate. The unique culture at The Ritz-Carlton is founded on its "Gold Standards"—including the Employee Promise, Credo, and Service Values—which guide daily interactions and operational excellence. The Ritz-Carlton prides itself on creating an environment where every team member contributes to a culture of respect, inclusivity, and exceptional service, ensuring both guest satisfaction and individual growth.

This particular role is for a Cook position within The Ritz-Carlton, designed for individuals passionate about culinary arts and hospitality. The incumbent will be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. This includes portioning, chopping, and storing ingredients properly to maintain freshness and comply with safety standards. The cook will also be expected to safely operate baking and measuring tools and equipment to prepare baked goods efficiently and effectively.

A significant aspect of this role involves ensuring food safety through strict adherence to handling policies, maintaining personal hygiene, and correctly monitoring temperatures of appliances and food products. The cook will also contribute to the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen area by setting up and breaking down workstations, disinfecting surfaces, and following established sanitation protocols to comply with health regulations.

Additionally, the role requires monitoring food quality and portion sizes throughout the shift to uphold The Ritz-Carlton's premium dining experience. Communication skills are essential for reporting any issues to management promptly and engaging professionally with team members and guests. The position also involves physical requirements such as moving objects up to 25 pounds, standing or walking for extended periods, and working on various surfaces.

The Ritz-Carlton emphasizes teamwork, confidentiality, and professionalism, expecting cooks to present themselves in clean and professional uniforms. The company promotes an inclusive work culture, encouraging employees to develop positive relationships, support one another, and contribute to shared goals. Safety and security protocols are integral, requiring employees to complete relevant training and certifications and report unsafe conditions immediately.

The Cook role at The Ritz-Carlton offers an opportunity to join a world-class hospitality brand recognized for luxury and service excellence. It is an ideal position for candidates holding a high school diploma or GED equivalent, even those with less than one year of related work experience and no prior supervisory responsibilities. While immediate supervisory experience or certifications are not required, the position offers a platform for career development within Marriott International's expansive portfolio.

Joining The Ritz-Carlton means becoming part of a globally respected team where you can excel, pursue your purpose, and belong to a culture that fosters success. The company’s commitment to equal opportunity and inclusivity ensures that all employees are valued regardless of background, disability, or veteran status, making this role both a professional and personal opportunity for growth and contribution.
