Gaylord Hotels, a distinctive brand within the Marriott International portfolio, is renowned for delivering unparalleled hospitality experiences characterized by creativity, dedication, and big-hearted service. Positioned as a leader in meetings and experiential hospitality, Gaylord Hotels offers an environment that fosters growth, opportunity, and a strong community spirit. Located at 2800 Opryland Drive in Nashville, Tennessee, this property stands as a testament to Marriott's commitment to excellence and inclusivity, welcoming associates from diverse backgrounds and fostering an environment where everyone's unique talents and experiences are valued. As part of a globally recognized hospitality leader, employees at Gaylord Hotels enjoy not only a rewarding career path with opportunities that extend well beyond typical hotel roles but also a supportive and engaging workplace culture. The company places a strong emphasis on equal employment opportunities, non-discrimination policies, and the celebration of cultural diversity, making it an employer of choice for many in the food and beverage sector and beyond.
The current open position is for a Food Preparation Worker in the Food and Beverage & Culinary department. This full-time, non-management role offers a competitive pay range of $22.00 to $23.57 per hour, emphasizing both the value the company places on its workforce and the standards of service it upholds. The role is centered on the preparation and handling of food items to meet the high quality and presentation standards Gaylord Hotels is known for. Responsibilities include portioning, chopping, and storing ingredients, as well as washing and peeling fresh produce. The Food Preparation Worker will also be tasked with weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients accurately to adhere to specified recipes and quality checklists. A critical part of the role involves the operation of kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, coupled with rigorous testing of food to ensure it is cooked to the appropriate standards.
Maintaining cleanliness and sanitization within the kitchen area is paramount, encompassing the washing and disinfecting of the workspace, tools, knives, and equipment. Food safety protocols and company policies are to be strictly followed, with the worker expected to report any maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions. The role also demands physical stamina, requiring the individual to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and undertake physical movements like bending, twisting, lifting, and carrying objects up to 25 pounds. Soft skills such as professional communication, teamwork, and confidentiality are equally important in creating a positive work environment and upholding the prestigious reputation of the Gaylord Hotels brand. This position is ideally suited for someone with at least one year of related work experience and a high school diploma or equivalent. It is a unique opportunity to be a part of a dynamic hospitality team dedicated to exceptional service and to grow within Marriott's extensive global network.
