As part of its culinary team, the hotel offers a dynamic, fast-paced environment where passion for food and creativity meet strict quality and safety protocols. The Crossing aims to maintain its standing as a top-tier establishment by employing dedicated professionals who can contribute to its reputation for delivering exquisite dining experiences.
The role of Pastry Cook II at The Crossing is a vital position within the hotel's kitchen brigade, responsible for preparing a wide range of baked goods and desserts according to precise recipes and standards. This position emphasizes consistency, quality, and presentation, ensuring every product meets the luxury expectations of hotel guests. As a Pastry Cook II, you will be tasked with preparing cookies, pies, dough, cakes, mousses, and plated desserts, as well as performing necessary prep work and maintaining organization within storage areas such as walk-in coolers and freezers. You will play a key role in maintaining food safety by properly covering, labeling, dating, rotating food items, and monitoring expiration dates, particularly with highly perishable items.
This opportunity is perfect for individuals who thrive in a team-oriented kitchen atmosphere and take pride in upholding the highest standards in food preparation and sanitation. You will be expected to ensure all kitchen equipment and workstations are clean and sanitized, follow all company policies including safety training and certifications, and assist in maintaining a professional appearance. The Pastry Cook II will collaborate closely with kitchen and service staff to coordinate timing and delivery of food orders, ensuring that all dishes are served fresh and at the ideal temperature and doneness. Efficiency and attention to detail are critical, with a focus on minimizing waste and maximizing utilization of ingredients to control food costs.
The role demands a balance of creativity, technical skill, and rigorous adherence to recipes and production charts. You will be entrusted with keeping detailed daily records of production usage and leftovers, reporting to supervisors, and assisting with sanitation protocols to uphold the hotel's food safety standards. Reliability and punctuality are paramount, as the role requires regular attendance, adherence to schedules including overtime, and the ability to handle the physical demands of kitchen work. The Pastry Cook II position offers a supportive environment for culinary professionals aiming to grow their skills within a reputable luxury hotel setting, emphasizing career development and team collaboration throughout all shifts and meal functions.
