Located in the prestigious Biltmore neighborhood of Phoenix, Arizona, the iconic Arizona Biltmore Resort is a crown jewel within the Pyramid Global Hospitality portfolio. Renowned as the "Jewel of the Desert," this historic 39-acre luxury property underwent a significant $150 million restoration, reopening in May 2021 to offer guests an unparalleled blend of timeless elegance and modern luxury. The resort features over 700 beautifully appointed rooms, more than 200,000 square feet of versatile banquet space, nine diverse food and beverage outlets including restaurants, bars, a gelato shop, and in-room dining options, as well as a luxury spa and seven swimming pools, one of which includes a 65-foot waterslide.
As a Pastry Cook II at the Arizona Biltmore, you will play a vital role in the culinary team by preparing and baking a wide range of desserts such as cakes, cookies, pies, and puddings, ensuring that every item meets the highest standards of quality and presentation. This full-time position requires availability for shifts from 6:30 am to 3 pm including weekends and holidays. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least two years pastry experience in a professional kitchen in a high-volume operation
- Maricopa County Food Handler Card
- Must be available to work days, weekends and holidays
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and attitude
- Ability to follow food safety and handling guidelines
- Ability to work 6:30 am to 3 pm shifts
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Graduate of an apprenticeship or accredited culinary school preferred
- At least two years of pastry experience in a professional kitchen in a high-volume operation
- One year of hotel experience preferred
- Upscale or luxury dining experience preferred
- Maricopa County Food Handler Card
- ServeSafe Food Handler Certification preferred
Job Duties
- Maintain a professional attitude, demeanor and appearance
- Wear proper uniform and footwear at all times
- Consult supervisor if unsure of tasks and procedures
- Store all items in approved containers that are wrapped, dated and labeled
- Follow food handler's guidelines
- Sign in and out on the authorized form with supervisor's initial before leaving
- Clean all small equipment immediately after use
- Prepare items listed on production sheet
- Rotate old stock out first and ask chef if freshness is questionable
- Date and label all items going into freezer and walk-in, clean as you go
- Demonstrate commitment to reducing injury risk to guests and associates
- Know and act appropriately during emergencies
