Job Requirements
- Minimum 5 years pastry experience
- culinary degree or culinary school preferred
- food handlers certification
- ability to communicate verbally and written in basic English
- able to read and follow menus and recipes
- able to perform mathematical calculations
- able to lift 50 lbs
- able to stand for an 8-hour shift
- flexibility with hours and schedule
- compliance with all serve safe and safety procedures and regulations
Job Qualifications
- Complete comprehension of baking math and recipe conversion
- knowledge of entire bakery and ability to train other cooks
- advanced skills in wedding cakes, viennoiserie, plated desserts, and chocolate and sugar work
- complete understanding of daily kitchen operations
- ability to assist and maintain kitchen in absence of Pastry Chef
- food handlers certification
- culinary degree or school preferred
- minimum 5 years of pastry experience
- ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing in basic English
- effective reading and counting skills
Job Duties
- Prepare all pastry items
- maintain control charts of all food items produced
- maintain a high degree of cleanliness throughout cooking area
- complete opening and closing checklists
- produce daily menu items
- lead pastry cooks through demonstration of technique and precision
- assist in production of wedding cakes, banquets, viennoiserie, and other specialty items
- collaborate with Pastry Chef to develop new menu items, tastings, and VIP buffets
