The Pastry Cook role at Tao Group Hospitality offers a unique opportunity to join a leading hospitality brand known for innovation, quality, and outstanding guest service. This position involves ensuring the quality, consistency, production, and execution of all pastry menu items. The Pastry Cook will be responsible for maintaining professional appearance standards as outlined in the company’s employee handbook and will work closely with fellow employees and supervisors to promote a courteous and cooperative working atmosphere. The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $18 to $22 and requires the ability to work flexible schedules, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of assigned pastry recipes, execute them according to Tao Group standards, and ensure compliance with health and sanitation regulations. This role includes responsibilities such as handling dietary restrictions and allergy needs with care, assisting in inventory management, preparing daily prep lists, and maintaining a clean and sanitary workstation. The Pastry Cook will also be expected to perform opening and closing procedures, communicate effectively with chefs, sous chefs, and kitchen support staff, and participate in training sessions and team meetings. Job Qualifications

  • Previous pastry experience preferred
  • Experience in a high-volume culinary operation preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment

Job Duties

  • Maintain professional appearance standards as directed in the Tao Group Hospitality Employee Handbook
  • Anticipate and accommodate the needs of the guests
  • Handle all allergy and/or dietary restrictions and modifications
  • Assist in taking inventory and creating daily prep list
  • Accurately follow all orders received from the POS system and/or direction from the expeditor
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of assigned station, the kitchen and the entire venue
  • Follow supervisor's instructions, communicate with and support co-workers while being a team player
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of assigned recipes with the ability to execute them to company standard
  • Possess general knowledge of the venue
  • Comply with Department of Health and company sanitation standards
  • Work as part of a team and provide help and support to all fellow team members
  • Communicate product needs to the chefs, sous chefs and the support staff
  • Check cover counts, BEOs and/or Fire Sheets as required
  • Properly set-up station, other opening/closing procedures as directed by management including stocking station with prescribed supplies, setting mise en place following FIFO and company standards, wipe down and sanitize station
  • Perform opening and closing side-work as prescribed
  • Report all breakage, damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management
  • Attend and participate in daily pre-service meetings where applicable
  • Attend and participate in any training sessions or departmental meetings
  • Learn by listening, observing other team members and sharing knowledge while leading by example
  • Portray a positive and professional attitude
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Tao Group Hospitality, its partners and supporting hotel environments
  • Work as part of a team and provide help and support to all fellow team members
