Within this context, Rio Las Vegas is currently seeking a dedicated Pastry Cook to join its culinary team. The Pastry Cook’s responsibilities involve daily food preparation, strictly adhering to recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards to ensure consistency and excellence. The position requires a strong understanding of advanced pastry techniques, food safety regulations, and kitchen sanitation protocols. Daily duties include setting up the workstation according to kitchen guidelines, maintaining cleanliness, performing quality checks of all products, restocking ingredients as needed, and assisting with the organization and sanitation of the kitchen, including walk-in coolers and storage areas. The Pastry Cook also plays a supportive role in large-scale event preparations and collaborates with senior kitchen management on product quality and operational efficiency.

This is a full-time position that demands a self-driven individual capable of managing time effectively and working independently under pressure.   • Work performed indoors in climate-controlled environment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Sets up work station according to kitchen guidelines
  • Prepares all food items as directed, in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follows recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications as set by leadership
  • Restocks all items as needed throughout shift
  • Cleans and maintains work area, practicing good safety and sanitation standards
  • Properly uses and maintains all equipment in the pastry station
  • Assists with cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers and storage areas
  • Cleans specialized pastry tools as needed
  • Performs daily quality checks of all products and communicates any issues to chef team
  • Produces items for large scale parties and assists in execution
  • Performs additional responsibilities as requested by kitchen leadership
  • Creates multiple dessert items simultaneously with precision
  • Maintains attention to detail for quality execution
  • Demonstrates effective time management handling multiple tasks
  • Performs all other job-related duties as requested
