Job Description

San Antonio Country Club is a prestigious private club located just minutes from the vibrant heart of downtown San Antonio. Renowned for its warm Southern hospitality and tradition, the Club offers an inviting and upscale environment for its members and their guests. Its beautifully landscaped grounds and elegant facilities provide an exceptional backdrop for a variety of dining experiences, ranging from a formal dining room and casual grille to expansive banquet facilities and seasonal outdoor venues. The Club prides itself on presenting consistently high-quality dining that celebrates fresh, seasonal ingredients and thoughtful culinary artistry.

The culinary team at San Antonio Country Club plays a vital role in delivering memorable and exquisite meals for multiple daily dining services, exclusive member events, tournaments, and private celebrations throughout the year. This commitment to quality and creativity extends to the dessert and pastry offerings, where emphasis is placed on scratch-made baked goods and elegant presentation. As a member-focused establishment, the Club fosters a collaborative and supportive environment, encouraging professional growth and teamwork among its culinary professionals.

We are seeking a motivated Pastry Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is designed for someone with practical hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen who takes pride in crafting high-quality desserts and baked goods from the ground up. The successful candidate will enjoy the opportunity to express creativity and contribute to menu development, complementing the Club's robust event calendar and diverse dining offerings. Duties will include producing daily assorted pastries such as cookies, muffins, biscuits, sponge cakes, pies, and custards in line with established recipes and plating standards. The Pastry Cook will support various dining outlets by preparing and plating desserts for service and events, maintain organized pastry stations and equipment, and ensure strict adherence to sanitation and health code standards.

In addition to day-to-day production tasks, the Pastry Cook will take responsibility for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down weekly or holiday buffets, actively managing inventory, and minimizing product waste through disciplined stock rotation and storage procedures. Exceptional organizational skills, a sense of urgency, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment are vital traits for success in this position. San Antonio Country Club commits to providing a warm, community-oriented atmosphere that values quality, consistency, and culinary excellence in all aspects of its operations. This part-time or full-time role offers flexible scheduling based on business needs, with an emphasis on adaptability to cover service periods and events, making it an exciting opportunity for someone eager to grow their pastry craft within an esteemed setting.
