We are currently seeking a dedicated and creative Pastry Chef to join our esteemed culinary team on a full-time basis. Reporting directly to the Executive Pastry Chef, this role collaborates closely with a small team to craft delicious and visually appealing desserts, pastries, and breads that delight our members. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $17.00 to $18.00, depending on experience, alongside excellent employee benefits, distinctive amenities, and employee meals.
The Pastry Chef role demands a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-quality culinary environment. Responsibilities include preparing a variety of baked goods in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards, overseeing pastry cart and buffet dessert table setups, and maintaining food safety and sanitation standards as per company and health regulations. The candidate will also assist in the successful execution of banquet events accommodating up to 500 guests, ensuring that all desserts meet the Club’s high standards of taste and presentation. Maintaining an organized production schedule to guarantee a steady inventory of freshly baked goods is critical to the position.
Candidates must be capable of managing their workstations effectively, including setup and breakdown, and be proactive in communicating with the Executive Pastry Chef about expected product shortages or supply needs. Maintaining a safe and secure working environment and upholding professional appearance and cleanliness are essential traits for this role. The Pastry Chef should also excel in time management, embrace collaborative feedback, and execute duties with a mindset focused on member satisfaction. This position requires a cool demeanor under pressure, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to anticipate member needs and exceed expectations.

Job Requirements
- Texas food handler certified
- Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling practices
- 3-5 years’ experience in a scratch production bakery
- Fluent English speaker
- Able to take direction well from others
- Responds well to suggestions from others
- Able to focus on timing and organization

Job Duties
- Prepares baked goods, pastries and other bakery items per production
- Oversees pastry cart and buffet dessert table set-up and presentation
- Maintains all food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with company policy and health regulations
- Prepares and serves items in accordance with established recipe and presentation standards
- Assists in execution of banquet events of up to 500 people
- Schedules production of baked goods to maintain an inventory of freshly baked goods at all times
- Sets up, maintains and breaks down workstation
- Notifies Executive Pastry Chef in advance of expected product shortages
- Requisitions supplies as needed to prepare menu items
- Ensures that work area is safe and secure
- Maintains professional appearance and observes personal cleanliness
- Adheres to state and local health and safety regulations
