As they continue to expand their impressive portfolio, they are introducing their latest and most ambitious project, 550 Madison. This multi-level, 15,000-square-foot dining destination is located inside the iconic Sony building in Midtown Manhattan, a landmark known for its architectural significance and cultural vibrancy. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Must be able to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and back-of-house areas
  • Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Must be available for flexible scheduling including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Must adhere to all safety and sanitation standards including those set by the CDC and local laws
  • Must be punctual and reliable
  • Must wear uniform and adhere to grooming standards
  • Must be physically capable of meeting the demands of the role, including mobility for up to 12 hours daily and handling kitchen equipment
  • Must be willing to comply with all company policies and participate in trainings

Job Qualifications

  • Must have the ability to read, speak, understand, follow written directions, and verbal instructions in English
  • Must be reachable by email and able to communicate via phone
  • Communicates information effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Possesses a positive, results-oriented, team-player mentality
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure under pressure
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and local Department of Health standards
  • Food Handler’s Certification or ability to obtain it
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Good oral communication skills
  • Ability to execute recipes and service according to company policy
  • Proficient knife-handling skills
  • Culinary Arts degree preferred
  • Familiarity with Korean cuisine preferred
  • 2+ years similar experience preferred
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking techniques, ingredients, equipment, and procedures

Job Duties

  • Sets up all assigned stations with appropriate mise en place in advance of service
  • Attends all assigned pre-shift meetings and puts out dishes for line check according to company standards
  • Prepares menu items in cooperation with the kitchen team at the direction of the chefs
  • Follows all allergy protocols and modifies dishes at the direction of the chefs
  • Ensures all dishes meet quality and timing standards while actively restocking ingredients
  • Labels, stocks, and organizes inventory
  • Maintains a neat, orderly, and safe workstation
  • Works efficiently with kitchen team members and complies with company procedures and food safety standards
  • Keeps utensils and equipment clean and sanitary
  • Maintains a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Breaks down stations fully and reports waste
  • Reports to each scheduled shift on time, in uniform, and ready to work
  • Assists other stations or areas as requested
  • Responsible for training new employees as assigned
