Job Requirements
- Belief in and adherence to the statement of faith and mission of the Navigators
- high school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
- minimum of 1-2 years of experience as pastry cook
- certification of culinary training or apprenticeship preferred
- food handling certificate required

Job Duties
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
- use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely
- meet with the Executive Pastry Chef to review assignments, anticipated business levels, changes and other information pertinent to the job performance
- complete opening and closing duties including inspecting the cleanliness and working conditions of all tools, equipment and supplies
- check production schedule and par
- establish priority items for the day
- prepare all menu items following recipes, according to departmental standards
- inform the Executive Pastry Chef of any foreseeable shortages before items run out
- maintain proper storage procedures as specified by Health Department and hotel requirements
- minimize waste and maintain controls to attain forecasted food cost
