Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous supervisory experience in pastry or bakery environment preferred
- at least 3 years of progressive pastry arts experience or culinary graduate with 1 year pastry experience
- pastry arts or baking certification preferred
- current food handlers certification
- strong organizational and communication skills
- ability to evaluate and implement pastry techniques
- ability to maintain composure under pressure
- initiative to anticipate pastry needs
- compliance with personal appearance and grooming standards
- willingness to comply with Avion Hospitality policies and safety regulations
- ability to work flexible hours based on hotel needs
- commitment to attendance and punctuality
- friendly and service-oriented demeanor
Job Qualifications
- Prior supervisory experience in pastry or bakery environment preferred
- minimum 3 years of progressive pastry arts experience or culinary graduate with at least 1 year pastry experience
- pastry arts or baking certification preferred
- food handlers certification compliant with state requirements
- strong organizational and communication skills
- ability to implement creative pastry techniques
- ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing situations
- knowledge of menu and preparation standards
- friendly and service-oriented attitude
Job Duties
- Open pastry kitchen each day
- supervise and assist in preparation of baked goods and desserts for all hotel food outlets
- maintain highest standards of quality and presentation
- ensure completion of food and station preparations prior to service
- support kitchen line during operating hours to ensure efficiency
- supervise banquet food preparation according to event specifications
- maintain cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen and storage areas
- enforce safe work habits and hotel policies
- assist with training staff on kitchen equipment
- attend management meetings as required
- perform additional duties as assigned
