Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous supervisory experience in pastry or bakery environment preferred
  • at least 3 years of progressive pastry arts experience or culinary graduate with 1 year pastry experience
  • pastry arts or baking certification preferred
  • current food handlers certification
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • ability to evaluate and implement pastry techniques
  • ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • initiative to anticipate pastry needs
  • compliance with personal appearance and grooming standards
  • willingness to comply with Avion Hospitality policies and safety regulations
  • ability to work flexible hours based on hotel needs

Job Qualifications

  • Prior supervisory experience in pastry or bakery environment preferred
  • minimum 3 years of progressive pastry arts experience or culinary graduate with at least 1 year pastry experience

  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • ability to implement creative pastry techniques

Job Duties

  • Open pastry kitchen each day
  • supervise and assist in preparation of baked goods and desserts for all hotel food outlets
  • maintain highest standards of quality and presentation
  • ensure completion of food and station preparations prior to service
  • support kitchen line during operating hours to ensure efficiency
  • supervise banquet food preparation according to event specifications
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation in kitchen and storage areas
  • enforce safe work habits and hotel policies
  • assist with training staff on kitchen equipment
  • attend management meetings as required
  • perform additional duties as assigned
