Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley is now seeking a Pastry Cook 2 to join its prestigious culinary team. This role is instrumental in upholding the hotel’s commitment to exceptional food quality and presentation. The Pastry Cook 2 will be responsible for preparing a variety of pastry items according to guest orders and established recipes, ensuring consistency in taste and appearance. This includes completing mise en place and setting up stations for different meal services including breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
As part of the culinary team, the Pastry Cook 2 operates and maintains kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, broilers, mixers, slicers, ovens, waffle irons, and flat top grills. They are entrusted with proper food handling, including dating and rotating food containers, managing perishables at appropriate temperatures, and controlling food waste to maintain cost efficiency. This position requires someone who excels in high cleanliness standards and food safety protocols.
The ideal candidate for this position will have 2-3 years of experience in fine pastry preparation and culinary education, with the ability to communicate proficiently in English. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as the role involves working weekdays, weekends, holidays, and evenings. Candidates must also be authorized to work in the United States.

Job Duties
- Prepare pastry items according to guest orders following recipe cards and presentation standards
- complete mise en place and set up station for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner service
- start food items that are prepared ahead of time without exceeding estimated needs
- operate, maintain and properly clean kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, flat top grill
- date all food containers and rotate perishables as per policies
- check pars for shift use, determine necessary preparation, freezer pull and line set up
- note any out-of-stock items or shortages and return unused food items properly
- assist in managing food costs and control food waste, loss and usage per policies
