Park Hyatt Washington has earned distinguished accolades, including a Michelin distinction, highlighting its culinary expertise and dedication to quality. The hotel prides itself on fostering a dynamic and inclusive workplace where employees are valued, and professional growth is encouraged.
This is an outstanding opportunity to join the Michelin-distinguished culinary team at Park Hyatt Washington as a Full-Time Pastry Cook. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the hotel's reputation for exquisite dining and impeccable quality. The Pastry Cook will work within a fast-paced, high-performance kitchen environment, creating a variety of desserts and baked goods that meet the high standards expected in both fine dining and banquet settings. Candidates will make delightful pastries for afternoon teas, buffets, and plated desserts, delivering artistry and precision in every dish.
The position offers a competitive starting salary range from $29.00 to $31.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, with the salary subject to a culinary cooking test. In addition to a rewarding compensation package, Park Hyatt Washington provides an excellent benefits program. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance starting after just 30 days of employment, a 401(k) retirement matching plan up to 4%, paid time off, paid family bonding time, and adoption assistance. Employees also enjoy tuition reimbursement, free colleague meals during shifts, an employee stock purchase plan, and exclusive discounts at various retailers such as Apple, AT&T, Verizon, and Headspace, amongst others.
The successful Pastry Cook candidate will have at least two years of prior pastry experience, preferably with exposure to fine dining environments, and solid knowledge of pastry and bakery techniques. A culinary degree or related hotel experience is preferred, along with the ability to multitask effectively, work independently at a single station, and communicate clearly. Strong customer service and teamwork skills are essential, as is a genuine desire to exceed guest expectations. The role demands physical stamina due to prolonged standing periods and requires full-time availability including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Joining Park Hyatt Washington means becoming part of a celebrated team where craftsmanship is honored, and individual talents are nurtured. This role is perfect for culinary professionals passionate about pastry arts who wish to grow in a prestigious and supportive setting that values excellence and creativity in hospitality.
