The Pastry Cook role at Starwood Hotels is an integral part of the culinary team, specifically within the pastry department. The position requires the ability to prepare, bake, and produce a wide range of pastry items for various events and outlets, following established property recipes and brand standards. Attention to detail, adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team are crucial for success in this role. The Pastry Cook supports the overall quality and presentation of pastries, ensuring guests receive products that meet Starwood Hotels’ high expectations.

This role involves a variety of tasks such as preparing and setting up the pastry station, measuring and mixing ingredients, baking breads, cakes, cookies, pastries, and confections, as well as making ice creams and sorbets. The Pastry Cook also ensures cleanliness and organization of the work area, maintains inventory levels, follows safety protocols, and communicates effectively with team members and leaders. Flexibility to work varying schedules including holidays and weekends is necessary to support the 24-hour operation common in the hospitality industry.

Job Duties

  • Work effectively as part of the pastry team
  • complete all tasks related to preparation, baking and production of pastry items
