As a Pastry Cook, you will work directly under the guidance of the Pastry Chef, preparing pastries, baked goods, and desserts for the food and beverage department, community residents, daily specials, and special events.   • High school diploma or equivalent
  • professional pastry and baking experience required
  • ability to follow recipes and maintain quality standards
  • must maintain personal hygiene and dress code standards
  • ability to work flexible hours mainly during daytime
  • pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening required
  • willingness to work in a senior living community environment

Job Qualifications

  • At least 3 years experience working as a pastry cook in hotel, restaurant, country club or similar industry producing pastries, desserts and breads from scratch
  • ability to understand and follow instructions in English and communicate effectively
  • working knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
  • understand measurements, conversions, nutrition and diet
  • comfortable working independently as well as with others
  • must be able to provide photo samples of dessert and pastry creations

Job Duties

  • Prepare pastries, baked goods, and desserts for food and beverage department, community residents, daily specials, and special events
  • prepare all food served according to standard recipes and special dietary orders
