BLT, one of the flagship restaurants under E2 Hospitality, is currently inviting applications for a dedicated Pastry Chef to join their culinary team on a full-time basis.

The Pastry Chef role at BLT is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional passionate about crafting exceptional baked goods and desserts. The successful candidate will have a substantial impact on the restaurant’s menu innovation and overall customer satisfaction by preparing a wide variety of pastries such as cakes, cookies, pies, and breads. This role requires balancing traditional baking methods with modern techniques to continuously produce delightful and visually appealing desserts. Beyond baking, the Pastry Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining kitchen operations by monitoring ingredient stocks, ensuring equipment is in good condition, and adhering strictly to health and safety standards. Leadership and mentoring are also key elements of this position, as the Pastry Chef will guide and motivate assistants and bakers, help recruit and train new kitchen personnel, and contribute to building an efficient, creative, and well-organized baking team. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in pastry or baking roles
  • Familiarity with baking equipment and tools
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
  • Commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a pastry chef or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of traditional and modern baking techniques
  • Creativity and artistic skills in dessert decoration
  • Ability to manage inventory and budget effectively
  • Leadership and team management skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a kitchen environment
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

Job Duties

  • Preparing a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread, following traditional and modern recipes
  • Creating new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers
  • Decorating pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
  • Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
  • Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used
  • Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently
  • Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel
  • Maintain a clean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
