Job Description
Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa is a distinguished AAA Four Diamond boutique hotel that beautifully captures the essence of Southern California with its hacienda-style architecture and lush gardens. Nestled on a historic former ranch dating back to the late 1800s, the property combines rich heritage with modern luxury. The hotel offers 210 casually elegant rooms and suites designed to provide guests with comfort and an authentic Southern California experience. As part of Noble House Hotels and Resorts, a collection of luxury hotels and resorts across the Americas, Estancia La Jolla stands out as an exclusive destination that celebrates history, culture, and exceptional service.
The role of Pastry Cook at Estancia La Jolla is crucial in maintaining the high standards of culinary excellence the hotel is known for. This position involves meticulous preparation, production, and presentation of a wide array of desserts, baked goods, and pastry items offered at banquet events, multiple restaurant outlets, retail operations, and special functions hosted on the property. The Pastry Cook works closely with the Executive Chef and culinary leadership team to craft seasonal dessert menus that align with the property's sophisticated yet approachable culinary style. Attention to detail, creativity, and consistency in quality are paramount for success in this role.
This hands-on role demands a combination of passion for pastry arts and operational efficiency to ensure all items reflect the hotel’s commitment to guest experience. Patience, empathy, and excellent service orientation are essential traits for this role, as the Pastry Cook contributes not only to the kitchen operations but also to the overall ambiance and guest satisfaction. The position offers competitive pay and benefits, including health insurance, paid time off, and professional development opportunities such as training and collaboration with experienced culinary professionals. Estancia La Jolla is recognized for its inclusive culture, highlighted by awards as a Top Workplace in San Diego and nationally, making it a rewarding employment environment that values teamwork, creativity, and guest-centric service.
