Job Description
The Bartolotta Restaurants is a nationally acclaimed family-owned restaurant and catering organization located in the Greater Milwaukee area. Established in 1993 by restaurateur Joe Bartolotta and his brother, Chef Paul Bartolotta, a two-time James Beard Award winner, this iconic culinary brand has grown substantially, boasting a portfolio of 18 unique restaurants and catering venues. Known for their unwavering commitment to quality, exceptional service, and a passion for the culinary arts, The Bartolotta Restaurants have become synonymous with excellence in the hospitality industry. Beyond delivering top-notch food and experiences to their guests, the company is deeply involved in community support through its Care-a-lotta charitable initiative, which benefits numerous nonprofits in Milwaukee. As a family-run business, the organization prides itself on fostering a workplace culture that values respect, teamwork, and hospitality, treating team members as an integral part of the Bartolotta family.
The career opportunity lies within the pastry department, where the chosen candidate will hold a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the daily operations, culinary artistry, and management of the pastry section. This role encompasses leadership in employee development, financial oversight, as well as facilities management. The Pastry Chef will take charge of designing, implementing, and managing the pastry menu, ensuring it meets the highest standards of taste, creativity, and presentation. The position demands close collaboration with general managers, executive chefs, and vendors to maintain quality, manage inventory, and streamline procurement processes. Alongside hands-on participation in baking and decorating, this role entails coaching and mentoring pastry staff, conducting regular line checks, and ensuring that all health, safety, and sanitation regulations are rigorously followed.
Working at The Bartolotta Restaurants offers more than just a job: it presents an opportunity to be part of a passionate team driven by a 'hospitality heart'—a dedication to exceeding guest expectations paired with a positive and proactive approach. The company offers a full spectrum of generous benefits, including comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and prescription insurance for full-time employees, life and disability insurance, supplemental coverage plans, employee assistance programs, and more. Employees also enjoy perks such as dining discounts, complimentary meals on workdays, access to discounted event tickets, and retirement savings options. Importantly, the company provides robust training and professional growth opportunities under the guidance of world-class mentors, making this an ideal environment for pastry professionals seeking to elevate their careers while contributing to a prestigious culinary brand.
