The role of Pastry Cook at Eataly is an exciting opportunity for a culinary professional passionate about Italian desserts and pastries. In this role, the Pastry Cook will be responsible for transforming high-quality ingredients into exquisite Italian pastries following Eataly’s authentic recipes and standards. Reporting directly to the Pastry Sous Chef and the Pastry Chef, this position plays a vital part in maintaining the exceptional quality and presentation of Eataly’s pastry offerings. The Pastry Cook will engage in the preparation of various Italian specialties, such as tiramisu, cannoli, cookies, croissants, and gelato, ensuring that each creation adheres to the company’s quality standards and portion control guidelines. This role requires strict compliance with food safety regulations and departmental procedures, emphasizing cleanliness and hygiene, including washing and cleaning all utensils, preparation equipment, and work surfaces needed for production. The Pastry Cook must have a deep appreciation for Italian culinary traditions, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while collaborating closely with kitchen staff. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food preparation or pastry cooking
  • knowledge of hygiene and safety regulations
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • physical stamina to handle kitchen duties
  • basic math skills for portion control

  • Prior experience in pastry preparation
  • knowledge of Italian pastry recipes
  • ability to follow recipes accurately

Job Duties

  • Prepares pastries, tiramisu, cannoli, cookies, croissants, gelato and other Italian desserts
  • follows recipes and complies with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules and procedures, and Department of Health regulations
  • washes and cleans all utensils, preparation equipment and counters required for production
  • performs other duties as required or assigned
