The Pastry Cook position at BallenIsles Country Club offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about baking and eager to advance their culinary skills within a fast-paced hospitality environment. This role involves the preparation and production of a wide variety of desserts, cakes, pastries, and other baked goods primarily for the dining room and various club functions. The successful candidate will work closely with the Pastry Chef and kitchen team to ensure all pastry items meet the club's high-quality standards for presentation and taste.

As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for following pastry recipes and ingredient specifications meticulously, decorating special event pastries, and contributing to inventory management practices to minimize waste and theft. The role demands adherence to strict food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain the club’s reputation for excellence. Flexibility is essential as the position requires working full-time hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous baking or pastry experience preferred
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to comply with food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties

  • Participate in the production and preparation of fresh cakes, pastries, and desserts
  • Responsible for pastry production for the dining room and all other functions in the club as instructed by Pastry Chef
  • Follow pastry-related recipes and ingredient purchase specifications
  • Decorate pastry items for special events such as buffets and receptions
  • Maintain the highest professional food quality and sanitation standards
  • Assist in planning, preparing, and/or decorating special pastry items as necessary
  • Assist in the monthly inventory
  • Monitor control to minimize food and supply waste and theft
  • Comply with all health and safety guidelines
  • Maintain a consistent work attendance and punctuality record
