This full-time role for a Pastry Cook is a critical position within the hotel's culinary team. The Pastry Cook will prepare a variety of pastries and baked goods according to established recipes and standards, ensuring each item reflects the highest quality and taste that guests expect from a luxury hospitality brand. Daily duties involve setting up the workstation with the necessary mis en place, equipment, and supplies, collaborating with other kitchen staff for special dining services such as A la Carte Restaurant, Brunch, and Banquets, and baking breads, rolls, and other baked delicacies. Maintaining proper food safety and sanitation practices is essential to this position, as is securing ingredients and finished products appropriately.
The role demands constant awareness of guest satisfaction scores to contribute positively to the overall experience and quality of service. The Pastry Cook is also expected to align with sustainability initiatives like HHM's EarthView program, promoting eco-friendly and responsible culinary practices. Job Duties
- Follow recipes to prepare food items accordingly
- Set up work station with required mis en place, tools, equipment and supplies
- Work with staff in preparation of baked goods for A la Carte Restaurant, Brunch, and Banquets
- Bake breads, rolls, or other baked goods
- Follow safe food handling procedures and maintain clean and sanitized work areas including cutting boards, counters and work spaces
- Secure and store food items properly
- Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward increasing departmental and overall guest satisfaction
- Follow guidelines related to sustainability practices related to HHM's EarthView program
- Practice safe work habits and wear protective safety equipment
- Perform other duties as requested by management
